Suitable for

- Identify which substances may be causing a delayed-type allergic reaction.
We can help with your Dermatitis
We can identify two types of contact dermatitis:
- Irritant contact dermatitis – caused by a substance being in direct touch with the skin but does not involve the immune system.
- Allergic contact dermatitis – caused by a sensitivity or over-sensitivity to a particular substance and does affect the immune system.
An allergic reaction is unique to the individual and substance.
Contact between the skin and the substance will cause a rash and the rash will disappear if contact is avoided. This condition can be effectively treated once a diagnosis is made.*
Patch Tests
The patch test involves applying different substances to the skin under the adhesive tape.
These are left on the skin for 48 hours, after which the reaction is the examined to determine which substance is causing the allergic reaction.
* Individual results may vary. A referral from a Dermatologist is essential.
Please note that these treatments require a referral from a Dermatologist and we can assist you with a referral.
